EARLING HILLS RANCH
Our Story
Owners: Tracy & Anne Comp
Perry Comp, Tracy’s Father, loved horses. He grew up in a time when horses were a tool to be used for all aspects of farm and ranch life. As a young man, Perry trained and showed American Saddlebred horses for Glen Rhodes. When Perry started farming and ranching, he turned his attention to Quarter horses. Perry’s breeding program consisted of traditional, cow bred mares that he bred to his fast Top Deck stud. Perry always wanted to combine speed and athleticism.
In many ways Tracy And Anne’s approach to breeding high quality quarter horses’ mirror that of Tracy’s father. Tracy and Anne have a 99.38% foundation stud, Tivios Crowned Reed, bred to a long line of performance and foundation mares. They also have stud and mare prospects from Paddys Irish Whiskey, High Brow Cat, and Peptoboonsmal.
Growing up, Tracy’s babysitter was an old quarter horse named Bud. While the family was out haying each year, Tracy and Bud would spend the day riding around in the field chasing jack rabbits and exploring. Bud and Tracy would also get to ride a mile and a half to Grandma and Grandpa’s house.
Anne grew up around horses in a different way. She was a military brat from Texas/Oklahoma. Her family enjoyed horses while living on base. Anne spent endless hours at the stable on the base and loved every moment of it.
This is our life, and we love it.
